Tone, Treat, Sip – Beauty Inside and Out

Untitled design

Feeling great and looking fabulous is a combination of what you put inside your body to nourish it, as well as what you put on your skin in the form of beauty products, lotions and potions.

Your skin the largest organ in your body and 60% of what you put on to your skin is absorbed into your blood stream. Scary stuff when you consider what is lurking in many beauty products (you can read more about the top 12 nasties to avoid here).

Today I am sharing with you three recipes that will support your beauty from both the inside and the outside.

Healing Floral Toner

Healing Floral Toner

In the past, toners got a bad rap. They are often made from alcohol, fragrance, and other skin-harming ingredients. But a good natural toner has a purpose and is made of skin-loving organic ingredients.

A good toner is designed to remove any residual dirt from your skin, as well as preparing your skin for moisturising.

This healing floral toner is one of the first beauty products that I made for myself in order to avoid using a toner with alcohol and fragrance added to it.

Rejuvenating Face Mask

Rejuvenating Face mask

This recipe for a rejuvenating face mask is so simple to make and does wonders for your skin – without the need for harsh chemicals, alcohol or synthetic fragrances.

Applying a face mask once a week will give your skin a boost. Wet masks will infuse active ingredients into your skin to hydrate, sooth, calm and heal.

Avocado Skin & Hair Boosting Smoothie

  • 1 Avocado, peeled and cored
  • 1 Banana, peeled and chopped (if you add a frozen Banana you won’t need to add the ice cubes)
  • 1 cup Almond Milk (or other nut milk of your choice)
  • 2 Medjool Dates or Honey, add to taste
  • 2-4 Ice cubes

Place all ingredients in blender and blend and until super smooth. Drink it straight up or take it to work for a mid-morning pick me up.
