A Guilt-Free Easter Treat – Choc Banana Milk

With Easter holidays upon us, it is easy to over indulge on chocolate and other sweet treats. Today I am sharing with you a sweet treat that you can enjoy guilt-free – Chocolate Banana Milk Shake. This tastes amazing. Its creamy texture feels indulgent while its high nutritional content will leave you feeling satisfied and full of energy.

Chocolate Banana Milk Shake

3 Frozen Bananas (peeled and chopped before you freeze them)

1 Cup Almond Milk (try to buy an unsweetened Almond Milk)

1 Tablespoon Cacao powder

3 Medjool Dates, seeds removed and chopped into smaller pieces

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste

Place all ingredients into your blender and blend until a smoothy, creamy texture is reached. Depending on the size of your blenders motor, you may need to turn it off for a few seconds before blending for a second time.

Add more Almond Milk if it is too thick.

This mixture can also be placed into Icy-pole moulds and frozen to make ice creams on a stick.

Health Benefits of Cacao

Cacao is chocolate in its raw form. Raw Cacao powder is packed with antioxidants, calcium and potassium. In fact, raw cacao contains three times more antioxidants than green tea.

Cacao powder is preservative free and it is not highly processed which is why it is much healthier for you then low-grade hot chocolate which has been highly processed and had sugar and preservatives added to it.

Cacao powder is available from health food stores.
